Squat

via Daily Prompt: Squat

Sometimes in life it seems no matter what you do, you get no results. Basically you get squat! No matter how hard you work to pay the bills, there is never enough to go around.

Then you remember God’s promise to you in Malachi 3:10. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.  So you persevere and stand on that promise and know that things will change. Of course, you need to start acting on making change. Like starting a blog site and the possibilities become endless.  Or if you’re in need of a place to live you go through the motions of seeking and trust the Lord for the rest. Sometimes, it doesn’t happen as quick as you’d like, but you must not give up and keep pressing on.

So when everything you put your hands on to do seems to go to squat, remember He he is in charge, if you let Him be. Put legs on your prayers. “My friends, you must do all you can to show that God has really chosen and selected you. If you keep on doing this, you won’t stumble and fall.” 2 Peter 1:10

This also deals with not wasting the talent God gave you. I love to paint and draw. If I put my efforts into a piece and trust God for the rest, that’s when I have good results. IMG_0232 Above is my very first marker drawing that I started and completed, trusting God to help me with the results.  Markers don’t blend. So in working the tree trunk for example, I used various shades of tans, browns and grays over lapping each other to give it that blended look and textured look where it needed it. Not bad for my first time using markers to create a landscape. God answered my prayers on this one. He always does.
