As I was spending the day, taking part in an eye study, it allowed me to spend a couple of days with seven other people who were varied in many ways, but yet we got along wonderfully. God made us fearfully and wonderfully.  Psalms 139:14

There was an elderly 83 year old lady who was French Canadian, who was talkative and energetic to the point that she could probably chase me around the block, if given the chance. Another woman stated she was 70 years old but looked like she was in her fifties. She was an artist who created mixed media pieces using fabric, old vintage photos and mixture of other things.

A man, who was born in Taiwan, stated he had traveled to Europe 27 times. Of course he was a retired electrical engineer and that much travel was possible since they usually made a high income. But if he has a lot of money, it appears to not have gone to his head. He is warm and friendly, not snobbish. He also walks 40 minutes daily and swims daily at his local Y. It shows because he is still as trim as he was 40 years ago. He is now 67 years old.

Another man,  who was of Italian descent, who spoke in a mild mannered tone, would speak and you would roll over laughing.  There was also a woman of 54 years old, who was divorced and looking for a boyfriend. She was down to earth, warm and friendly. She warned us that she snored. When she took a nap, she proved her point.

A woman from South America, who has lived in this country for the past 35 years, was the only one , like me, who still worked. She is a home health aide. The rest of the group were all retired.

The days were made to be very pleasant with this group of people. Despite any differences in race or belief systems, we talked and joked a lot and enjoyed each other’s company. We spoke about many subjects, like food,  games, work backgrounds, family issues. You name it. But as I think about it, religion or politics never came up. At least not when I was around. Which I’m glad of since politics is such a touchy subject.
